Women’s Equality Day
August 26, 2021, Women Equality Day commemorate the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920, granting women the right to vote. Women of color had to wait nearly five decades more before they received the right to vote. And now we are fighting for the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act legislation to strengthen a key component of the of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
The Women Equality movement will be celebrated today and everyday, because women will always bring awareness to continuing efforts to achieve full equality within our society.
